Pre-Hearing Conference
Find out what happens at a Pre-Hearing Conference, where directions are set and parties may reach a settlement before the appeal is heard. With consent, lawyers can conduct these by email through the Registrar. You may also lodge a Notice of Withdrawal to cancel your appeal, with your deposit possibly refunded if the Collector of Land Revenue agrees.
Pre-Hearing Conference
The Registrar gives notice of a Pre-Hearing Conference (“PHC”). At the PHC, directions may be given and orders may be made for the further conduct of the appeal. The PHC also provides you and/or your lawyer an opportunity to discuss issues relating to the appeal with the Collector of Land Revenue, so that a settlement or agreement may be arrived at. If you intend to proceed with an appeal, the Registrar may, at a pre-hearing conference, set necessary timelines for the exchange of affidavits and documents, and to fix a hearing date for your appeal, which will be heard by the Appeals Board..
e-Pre-Hearing Conference
Where parties are represented by lawyers and with their consent PHC may be conducted by email (“e-PHC”).
Lawyers using e-PHC should send an e-mail to ab_ephc@ab.gov.sg (opens in new tab) to give the Registrar an update of their case and state their request or application.
Withdrawal of Appeal
I no longer wish to proceed with my appeal. How do I withdraw my appeal?
You are required to lodge a Notice of Withdrawal with the Appeals Board (opens in new tab) [PDF, 11.3 KB]. Your deposit may be refunded to you in full if the Collector of Land Revenue agrees to a full refund. You will need to fill in a Direct Credit Authorisation (DCA) form to facilitate this refund.
